While we at 6Beds express our deepest outrage in the strongest possible sense over the labor exploitation and alleged human trafficking, which took place in six Rainbow Bright care centers in the Bay Area, it is a blatant reminder for all of us operators that we are responsible not only for our own care homes, but for how we ALL conduct business in the communities we love and serve.

One bad apple can ruin our industry’s reputation for the rest of us and bring about onerous audits and legislative enforcement (much like the RCFE Reform Act of 2014) that may potentially set back our operations and our viability to provide care for our residents.
While there will always be constant give-and-take with our employees, our industry is heavily regulated, with labor laws being a game-changer if we are callous and indifferent of our employees’ legal rights.
That is why it is vital that we all do our part to (1) work with, (2) educate and (3) encourage one another to comply with the labor laws – to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again in our communities.
To that end, 6Beds is hosting two joint federal and state labor training seminars this coming October 8th, in San Jose (NorCal) and October 22nd, in Brea (SoCal). See details below:
