The Department of Labor (DOL) reached out to 6Beds Legislative Director, Gina Wasdyke, to test a new web-based labor compliance training tool. The tool’s purpose is to provide an online labor training session that is live – open to questions and answers.
The initial testing was held on Friday, May 22, at 2 PM. A committee of 6Beds leaders – Ronald Simpson (6Beds Compliance Director), Frank Dickey, Olivia Deanda (6Beds Chief Financial Officer) and Gina Wasdyke – tested the web-ex training tool, conducted by Michael Eastwood (Assistant District Director, Federal DOL, Wage and Hour Division).
A similar training session will be conducted on June 3, 2015, at 10 AM. This is a first-come, first-served basis for the first 180 6Beds members. If you are a 6Beds member, please sign up now using our EventBrite registration form by clicking on the link below:
Labor Compliance Live, Online Training Session, June 3, 2015, @ 10 AM
If you are a non-6Beds member, we strongly urge you to sign up for membership by visiting our website, www.6Beds.org, and by clicking on ‘Join Us‘.
In addition, 6Beds will also host the first ever in the State, joint labor training session provided by both the Federal and State DOL. We will provide the details as soon as we confirm the date and venue. So please stay tuned.
On another note, both the Federal and State DOL were also very pleased that 6Beds is almost done with the labor compliance model that meets both federal and state labor laws. 6Beds wants to thank George Kutnerian (Co-Chair of the 6Beds Legislative Committee) for the hundreds of hours he spent working with Littler Law Firm and Michael Lotito to produce the residential care industry’s much anticipated labor compliance model. Littler Law Firm is the largest and most respected labor firm in the U.S. and Littler’s, Michael Lotito, is a top labor attorney in the nation.
