6Beds, Inc., rally at the State Capitol on March 17, 2015 is a tribute to SSI/SSP Providers — who are at the brink of extinction with a meager 72 cents/hour earmarked for wages!
6Beds’ top officers and lobbyists met with key legislators including the Governor’s Office from 9 AM – 5 PM. Joined by fellow providers, caregivers and resident family members — 6Beds also picketed at the State and Federal Department of Labor.
Governor Brown directed the State Secretary of Labor to start a dialogue — proposing for immediate relief from labor audit until the government determines a permanent solution.
We are done being silent. We have found our voice and we are fighting back. Over 100 facilities will be turning in their 60 day notice. Many will wait for the results from the labor meeting. If there’s no relief in sight, we are expecting hundreds/thousands more care homes to close.
