Introduction to Labor Compliance Workshop

9 AM – 11 AM
(This session is OPEN/FREE to all operators.)

Presented by 6Beds (not DOL/DLSE), this training session will take on an intuitive and narrative approach by focusing on what’s at the top of most operator’s minds – how to comply with live-ins. We will work through this topic until everyone understands the nuance of how to comply with live-ins, as well as their important role to care and supervision compliance and the significant savings they bring to your labor cost.

We will also cover the other good stuff that DOL/DLSE covers, but more importantly, we will help you to better understand how certain labor laws differ for our industry and how those can help you develop a more efficient and cost-effective staffing model.

We believe this format will create a safe environment for you to ask questions that you may otherwise have been reluctant to ask a DOL or DLSE investigator.

We will cover the following topics:

  • Live-ins
  • Exempt vs Non-exempt
  • Workday & Workweek
  • Fixed Salary vs Hourly Wage
  • Bi-Weekly Pay Period vs Bi-Monthly Pay Period
  • Overtime
  • Hourly Rate vs Regular Rate
  • Rest Breaks and (On-Duty) Meal Breaks
  • Split-shift
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Record Keeping
  • Timesheet

This session is OPEN/FREE to all operators.

This training session is a must-attend for all those unfamiliar with federal and state labor laws, who wish to attend the following Advance Labor Compliance and Cost Optimization Workshop.

If you are still trying to grasp the labor laws for residential care, uncertain of how to apply them to your caregiver staffing model and/or are weary of your skyrocketing labor costs, please attend this advance workshop by reserving your seats today.

The goals of this advance workshop are to:

  1. Empower you to analyze your own facility’s labor compliance violations,
  2. Give you insights as to how to restructure your current staffing model to achieve labor compliance,
  3. Teach you how to determine your own facility’s baseline labor cost as the first step towards delivery of care and cost optimization,
  4. Provide you with the building blocks to help you develop staffing models that optimize both delivery of care and labor cost, while complying with labor, and
  5. Provide you with insights as to how you can implement these labor compliance and cost-savings solutions in your facility.

Because we were short on time to cover this portion of our labor training during 6Beds Advocacy Day on April 11, this event will be FREE to all 6Beds members.

To help you get the most out of this workshop, please attend the preceding Introduction to Labor Compliance Training above that is OPEN/FREE to all operators. We will also release a series of blogs in the coming days to ground your understanding of pertinent residential care labor laws – to help prepare you for this workshop.

ARF & RCFE Funding Workshop

11 AM – 5 PM
(Attendance for this funding workshop is limited to 6Beds members only at $990/company.)
Your calling is noble. You love running a RCFE or ARF – providing safe and affordable quality care to the frail elderly and those with developmental disabilities or mental illness in a home-like setting. You are proud of what you do for our most vulnerable population, but you are struggling to make ends meet.

This funding seminar is for you!

For the first time in residential care history, two of California’s most respected and influential care home operators will share their expertise in running care homes to help your business earn a modest profit margin – when done right. They will share information on the latest trends and opportunities available to care home operators today – whether you serve California’s frail elderly, adults with developmental disabilities or individuals with mental illness.

You will learn the how-to’s to participate in various multi-billion dollar government programs, including the ALW program that is looking to add 2,000 beds this year, due largely to a lobbying effort of a coalition that included 6Beds. Ordinarily, consultants charge between $900 – $1,200 to assist with ALW application. However, included in this seminar, a consultant will be onsite to assist interested parties explore and begin the ALW application process.

Presented by Gina Wasdyke, MBA (6Beds Founder and Director) and George Kutnerian, MS, MBA (6Beds Director and Senior Vice President of Public Policy & Legislation), this Funding Seminar is the first and most sought after in the residential care industry.

Through 6Beds, both Gina and George are helping to shape the residential care industry. Their common goal is to strengthen and grow the industry to help ease California’s housing crisis, as well as increase the availability of affordable assisted living care – in a homelike setting – to meet the needs of our growing homeless population.

The residential care model is not well understood by those outside our industry. But because our care homes operate in residential communities and serve a small number of residents, they may just meet the new Federal guideline called Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) settings, which will dictate whether a program will continue to be funded by federal dollars or not. Thus, this serves as yet another window of opportunity for the continuity of growth and stability of the residential care industry.

This funding session is a 6Beds members-only benefit. The information to be presented is valued at over $10,000.

Attendance for this funding workshop is limited to 6Beds members only at $990/company. (Click to join now.)

Seats are limited so reserve yours now.
