A Call to Action: First Statewide Dialogue Among SSI, Low Income Care Providers & Residents

Please join 6Beds’ first statewide dialogue (via phone conference) to explore and define viable solutions to the increased closures of low income and SSI care homes.

These homes bear the brunt of our community’s displaced low income residents – comprised primarily of adults with mental illness. Left to their own devices, mentally ill residents can pose a serious threat to their own safety and the safety of the community.  However, under the safe care of residential homes, and assistance with their medication (under doctor’s orders),  these individuals can lead normal and productive lives in the community.

THE PROBLEM
With minimal legislative support this segment of the industry will soon collapse – unlike adults with intellectual disabilities (thru the Lanterman Act of California) who receive a significantly higher legislative support and funding.

THE SOLUTION
The goal of our dialogue is to identify pragmatic and viable solutions to raise awareness and support within the legislative and public arena. Please join us and make your voice count on this most pressing and industry-transforming issue.
